Janmangal

Two hundred years ago Swaminarayan Bhagwan told one of His Saints, Shatanand Muni, to write verses that, on chanting, would protect His devotees from evil influences, fear and obstacles. The result was the Janmangal Namavali, 108 verses consisting of different names of God. Each name refers to a different power or quality attributed to Swaminarayan Bhagwan. The recitation of this Janmangal Stotra brings bliss to the reciter and his family. This recitation absolves the reciter from his sins and purifies him. The reciter easily attains the four ends of worldly life: (I) Dharma - the religious merit, (II) Artha - the acquisition of wealth, (III) Kama - the fulfilment of wishes and desires, (IV) Moksha - the ultimate release from the cycle of birth and death and nearness to Swaminarayan Bhagwan. These holy names will surely bring fame, fortune and power to the reciter besides giving him the strength to rid the shortcomings and attain an eternally blissful life in the abode of Swaminarayan Bhagwan, Akshardham.
